The majority of Bollywood films are comprised of songs. Bollywood film music has revived the singing and music industry of India. In early decades, Indian music dance was primarily comprised of classical and folk dance. However with passage of time, Indian music dancing also change its shape from classic to modern dance. Now majority of Bollywood film music has modern style of dancing with a touch of western style. People usually love to see Bollywood music with dance as it gives them a pleasant and enjoyable feeling.
Item song or music is also very common in these days. Songs like "Munni Badnam huwe" and "Sheela Ki Jawani" has gain splendid response from audience. Now this item song trend is being followed in almost every action or romantic film songs. Bollywood music changes time to time. Whenever a Bollywood film has to be released, its music and songs are released first because it conveys idea and some information to audience about the film and its nature. It is also a great source of income as film makers through distributors earns handsome amount of money prior to the release of a film.
Majority of songs were have to be shot in Kashmir, but due to political unrest and independence issues of Kashmir, now most songs and shots are done in European countries like France, Spain, Switzerland and also in USA.
Awards are also given to famous and popular songs in the music industry. Numerous top class award ceremonies like IIFA, FilmFare, Zee Cine and Start Screen Awards pays tribute to popular and most liked songs. It helps the song maker and singer to gain more popularity with their songs.
